In 2004 Long Ashton was the first parish council in the district of North Somerset to be awarded the quality council status. It means that it proved to an independent panel, appointed by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM) that it is a well managed, vibrant and committed council and now it can use this distinctive logo.
The certificate was presented to the then Chairman, Ms Hardingham, and Clerk on Activities Day.
This is for a four year term and currently, in the old Avon area, only Weston-super-Mare, Keynsham Town Councils, Long Ashton and Bleadon Parish Councils have achieved this accolade.
