We have now processed all the responses to the Young People’s questionnaire and have almost finished the adults’. Thus, we now have a very clear indication of what people think, and we are starting to draft the Action Plan.  We have made the data available online at www.longashton.org.uk/ppabout, so do please come and take a look.
Some questions have gained over 98% response, and the village is overwhelmingly in favour of keeping our Green Belt, and remaining administratively separate from Bristol.
Hot topics
Traffic congestion, speeding and inconsiderate parking are still way ahead as people’s primary concerns, and have engendered strong comments.   After that, shops and a café are the most requested facilities.
Young people
We had 366 replies from young people under 20 years old, and about 170 of those were from 11 year olds and older. Picking out the comment from all the young respondents that received the most strongly agreeing: they would cycle more if the roads here were safer (56%). There is a clear call for more activities in the village, particularly sports related, and the Adult questionnaire backs up what the young people are asking for.

Don’t forget - you can view the results on www.longashton.org.uk/ppabout.

Next stages
: in drafting the Action Plan, the Steering Group will consider how best to realise the recommendations. Many villages have set up an Implementation Group to see the ideas through. If you would like to help in any way, please get in touch.
