| I’ve lived in Long Ashton for 6 years with my wife and children. My children were all educated in the village and attended Backwell School. I love Long Ashton and can honestly say it is the best place I have ever lived.|
In May I was elected as one of your two North Somerset Councillors. Being able to work for you is a privilege and in addition to my local responsibilities I am the elected person responsible for North Somerset Council’s annual budget. This draws on my background as a Chartered Accountant and my many years of experience working as a financial director.

I have represented our Parish of Long Ashton, which includes Wraxall & Failand and more recently Leigh Woods, on North Somerset Council for eight, and as a member of the Long Ashton Parish Council for sixteen, years. I take a full and active part in all aspects of the Council.I served as Chairman of the Parish Council for three years, and Chairman of North Somerset Council in the year 2015/16. I sit on all committees, and am a trustee of the Community Association and Vice Chairman. I have before, and will continue to defend our Parish against massive and inappropriate development such as currently proposed by Taylor Wimpey. It is potentially the biggest threat to our community for many years.

I have lived in Long Ashton for 14 years with
my wife, and children. I have two older children who have now moved away, a child at Birdwell Primary School and a toddler.
I worked in the IT world for over 30 years, most of which was for IBM where I had a variety of sales and marketing roles. In 2019 I took early retirement to focus on my new family, developing some new skills, and spending time giving back to the community I have spent so long in. I became a Parish Councillor early in 2020, and now have an active role including being Chair of the Environment Committee. I have a passion about making Long Ashton a really wonderful village to live in, and hope I can play my part in making that a reality.
