Protecting the Green Belt for all
North Somerset Council recently consulted on its new local plan for Housing, Employment and Community that will guide development in the area until 2038. The options being proposed are currently under consideration, but are likely to have a major impact on the wider Long Ashton area. The Parish Council has an active Green Belt Working Group that meets regularly to understand emerging implications for the parish. We encourage residents to look at the options, get involved and give their views; the more residents who provide their views the stronger our voice will be!

The Parish Council meets each month to look at planning applications and give feedback to the planning authority. We encourage residents to attend meetings - time is available to speak during Public Participation. Visit our Meetings Pages to find out when the next Planning Committee meeting is. To find out current planning applications and give your views directly to North Somerset Council, visit the planning section of their website by clicking here - just search for planning applications by postcode or by parish. When you look at individual applications you can also read the Parish Council's and other residents' comments.
